Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: October 25, 2026 | Effective Immediately

Welcome to LifeSavers United ("we," "our," "us," or "the Platform"). By accessing, browsing, registering as a donor, submitting an emergency blood request, or participating in our volunteer network, you ("User," "Donor," or "Requester") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please refrain from using the platform.

1. Nature of the Platform (Non-Profit Voluntary Intermediary)

LifeSavers United is a community-driven, non-commercial, non-profit emergency facilitation platform operating in India. Our sole mission is to connect individuals in urgent need of blood components with voluntary, non-remunerated donors and blood bank resources.

You expressly acknowledge and agree that:

  • LifeSavers United acts solely as a technological and community communications intermediary under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
  • LifeSavers United is not a licensed blood bank, hospital, clinical laboratory, or medical establishment under the Clinical Establishments Act or the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
  • We do not collect, process, separate, store, transport, test, or transfuse blood or blood components.

2. Medical, Clinical & Directory Information Disclaimers

The safety and quality of blood transfusion is strictly regulated under Indian federal law (National Blood Transfusion Council - NBTC and the Directorate General of Health Services - DGHS):

  • Mandatory Blood Bank Testing: All blood typing, cross-matching, antibody screening, and Transfusion-Transmissible Infection (TTI) testing (including HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Syphilis, and Malaria) are the mandatory statutory responsibility of the licensed hospital or blood bank where the donation takes place.
  • No Guarantee of Donor Suitability: LifeSavers United does not clinically verify or guarantee the medical eligibility, vein condition, hemoglobin levels, or infection status of any registered volunteer donor. Donor screening must be carried out in-person by qualified medical officers at the blood donation center.
  • Official Information Sources & Regulatory Changes: The blood donation rules, donor deferral tables, and component interval criteria published on this platform are compiled from official guidelines issued by statutory bodies including the DGHS, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), and the eRaktKosh National Portal. While we make every diligent effort to keep this information accurate and up to date, statutory rules, deferral windows, and health policies are periodically amended by government authorities. Official notifications issued by the DGHS/MoHFW supersede any content on this site, and users must verify and rely on the latest notifications directly on official statutory portals.
  • Blood Bank & Hospital Directory Details: All information, contact numbers, addresses, operational timings, and facility listings for blood banks and hospitals across India are compiled from official directories (such as eRaktKosh / State Blood Transfusion Councils) or publicly available information on the internet. Because operating hours, emergency helpline numbers, component processing charges, and blood stock availability are managed independently and change frequently at each institution's discretion, LifeSavers United cannot guarantee their ongoing accuracy. Users must directly call and verify details with the respective blood bank or hospital before traveling or making critical emergency decisions.
  • Site-Wide Data, Numbers & Metrics Disclaimer: Any statistics, figures, numbers, shortfall percentages, historical milestones, or quantitative metrics mentioned anywhere on this platform (including blogs, tools, banners, or informational pages) are derived from third-party research literature, internet sources, or past official surveys. These metrics are provided solely for contextual awareness and educational illustration. As clinical and demographic data continuously evolves, users should not treat these figures as absolute or legal truth and must rely exclusively on official government publications.
  • Health & Wellness Blog Disclaimer (Consult Your Doctor): All blog posts, nutritional articles, wellness tips, and medical summaries available on this platform are compiled from publicly available educational material, scientific literature, and open health resources on the internet for general public awareness only. This content does not constitute medical advice, clinical diagnosis, or individual treatment plans. Always consult your personal doctor, physician, or qualified medical specialist before applying, adopting, or relying upon any health advice, dietary modifications, or lifestyle changes described on this website.

3. Emergency Matching & No Guarantee of Fulfillment

In life-or-death emergencies, time is of the essence. We mobilize all available broadcast and notification channels (WhatsApp, Telegram, website alerts, volunteer networks) to identify willing donors. However:

  • No Guaranteed Arrival: Because all donors are unpaid volunteers balancing personal and professional commitments, LifeSavers United cannot guarantee that a donor will respond, qualify medically, or arrive at the hospital in time.
  • Patient Attendant Duty: Requesters and patient families must continue pursuing all hospital blood bank, regional blood storage center, and institutional channels concurrently. Do not rely exclusively on LifeSavers United for critical emergency outcomes.
  • Mandatory Duty to Report Fulfillment: Once your blood or platelet requirement has been met—whether through our network, hospital blood reserves, or family donors—the patient attendant must immediately notify LifeSavers United via our helpline or WhatsApp. Prompt reporting stops active emergency broadcasts, prevents redundant mobilization, and ensures voluntary donors are available for other dying patients.

4. Strict Zero-Tolerance Policy: Buying/Selling Blood & Fraud Prevention

Under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and directives of the Supreme Court of India, commercial blood trade, paid donors, or broker syndicates are strictly illegal and punishable by imprisonment.

  • All blood donations coordinated through LifeSavers United must be 100% voluntary, altruistic, and free of financial compensation.
  • Any attempt by a donor to solicit money, conveyance gifts, or payments from a patient family will result in immediate permanent banning and formal reporting to law enforcement authorities.
  • Any commercial broker, agent, or tout attempting to use this platform to trade blood units will be subject to criminal prosecution.

⚠️ Urgent Warning: Beware of Scams & Impersonators

LifeSavers United, its trustees, coordinators, and volunteer team NEVER ask for money, delivery fees, transport charges, conveyance costs, or blood bag processing fees via cash, UPI, QR codes, or personal bank transfers. Neither volunteers nor donors are authorized to collect funds. If anyone claiming to represent LifeSavers United demands financial payment, refuse immediately and report them to our official helpline at +91 9979260393.

5. User Conduct, Ethics & Humanitarian Neutrality

By accessing or using our platform, you agree to adhere to strict ethical standards:

  • Honesty in Request Submissions: You agree that all details provided in an emergency request (patient name, required blood component, hospital, contact numbers) are authentic, accurate, and correspond to an actual admitted medical patient. Submitting hoax, fake, or prank requests is a criminal offense and will be handed over to cybercrime authorities.
  • Universal Humanitarian Neutrality & Non-Discrimination: Blood has no religion, caste, or race. LifeSavers United operates strictly on universal humanitarian principles without discrimination based on religion, caste, creed, gender, linguistic identity, or socio-economic background. Emergency appeals are prioritized purely by medical urgency and clinical compatibility.
  • Respect for Donors: Requesters agree not to harass, repeatedly cold-call, or abuse registered donors who are resting, unavailable, or medically deferred.
  • Data Protection & Anti-Spam: Donor and volunteer contact numbers shared during an emergency match must be used solely for coordinating that specific donation. Harvesting contact numbers for commercial promotions, marketing, or political broadcasting is strictly forbidden.

6. Voluntary Donor Health Guidelines & Consent

If you register as a voluntary blood donor, you confirm and agree that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age and weigh at least 45 kg, in compliance with DGHS guidelines. Minors are strictly prohibited from registering as donors.
  • You will disclose all relevant medical history truthfully to the blood bank doctor during your pre-donation health check.
  • You understand the mandatory inter-donation intervals (minimum 90 days for male whole blood donors, 120 days for female whole blood donors, and 48 hours for platelet/apheresis donations). For official, comprehensive interval schedules across all blood components and deferral criteria, please visit the official Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the eRaktKosh National Portal, or consult our detailed DGHS Blood Donation Rules Guide and interactive Health Assessment Tools.
  • You understand that donation is completely voluntary, and you may decline or postpone any emergency request at your discretion without penalty.

7. Pediatric Requests & Parental Consent (DPDP Act, 2023)

In accordance with Section 9 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023:

  • When an emergency blood request involves a minor patient (below 18 years of age), the person submitting the form represents and warrants that they are the lawful parent or legal guardian of the child, possessing full legal capacity to share necessary medical information for urgent donor matching.

8. Clinical Safety & Authorized Donation Venues

To ensure absolute physical and medical safety for both donors and patient families:

  • Authorized Venues Only: All blood collections, platelet apheresis, and clinical evaluations must take place exclusively inside licensed hospital premises, accredited blood banks, or official government-sanctioned mobile blood donation camps under certified medical supervision.
  • Prohibition of Private Locations: Under no circumstances should any blood donation, blood testing, or specimen collection occur in private residences, vehicles, or non-clinical environments.
  • Independent Citizen Interaction: Donors and patient attendants connect as independent private citizens. LifeSavers United does not escort, supervise, or arrange physical transport for donors or patient families.

9. Doctors Network & Medical Directory Non-Endorsement

Our platform may showcase listings of healthcare professionals, specialists, and institutional partners (such as our Doctors Network):

  • All doctors, clinicians, and medical advisors listed or referenced are independent professionals.
  • Their inclusion on the website does not constitute an endorsement, clinical warranty, or guarantee of treatment outcomes by LifeSavers United. Users must exercise their own independent medical judgment when consulting healthcare practitioners.

10. Assistive AI & Technical Systems

Our platform implements automated search indexing, Telegram bot notification triggers, and assistive AI query categorizers (e.g., standardizing diagnosis entries). You understand that:

  • These algorithms operate as administrative tools to speed up form completion and categorization.
  • They do not provide diagnostic medical triage, cross-matching assessments, or prognostic evaluations.

11. Limitation of Liability & Force Majeure

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Indian law:

  • LifeSavers United, its founders, trustees, volunteer coordinators, developers, and advisors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages resulting from:
    • The failure or inability to secure a compatible blood donor within a desired timeframe;
    • Any adverse medical reactions, transfusion-related injuries, or complications occurring at a blood bank or hospital;
    • Any acts, omissions, misrepresentations, or conduct of donors, patient attendants, hospital staff, or third parties;
    • Technical interruptions, server downtime, DLT SMS gateway delays, TRAI regulatory telecom blocks, WhatsApp/Telegram third-party API downtime, or power failures outside our technological control;
    • Republishing, forwarding, or archiving of emergency appeals by independent third parties across social media or web directories.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LifeSavers United and its volunteer team against any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms, submission of inaccurate medical requests, or misuse of personal contact data obtained through the platform.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by, construed, and enforced in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India. In the event of any legal dispute or controversy arising under or relating to these Terms, the courts of competent jurisdiction located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

14. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to amend or update these Terms at any time to conform with regulatory updates, medical guidelines, or platform improvements. The revised version will be published here with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued access or use of our platform following revisions signifies your conclusive agreement to the updated Terms.
